Meet the Lawyer

That's me, Sheridan Green. That's what I looked like ten years ago. I stole this photo.

I've had a crazy and rewarding career. I spent a lot of it trying to help people who had been ordered deported and then years later courts ruled the basis for their deportation was wrong. I ended up winning a U.S. Supreme Court case on this before my three-year lawyer birthday.

I've gotten to argue before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals at least six times. (That's where you go to New Orleans and three REALLY smart people yell at you at the same time).

I was involved in a very important case that said that Texas simple assault is not a "crime involving moral turpitude" (which impacts EVERYTHING in immigration law).

I once got a guy a waiver who was both a former heroin trafficker AND a Scientologist.

Around 2013 I got thrown into a case for a Mexican EB5 investor who'd been waiting for his green card for 13 years. I filed a mandamus petition in federal court, something very few in my field had any expertise with at the time. The government attorney screamed at me and told me I didn't know what I was doing. (He was right but didn't count on my pluck). I got a federal judge to tell him to give my client his green card in 15 days or he was going to haul the director of the California Service Center to Texas "so I can yell at her instead of her lawyer."

For a while I was the go-to immigration lawyer for down-and-out professional wrestlers. One of them later became WWE U.S. Heavyweight Champion after I got him his green card.

Once a client brought a severed head to my office in a garbage sack. (I wasn't there--I was at the U.S. Supreme Court).

In 2016, I started my own firm, Sheridan Green Law PLLC. I try to be the lawyer I would like to have if I were in a fix. We try to be fair on prices and give matters as much attention as they deserve. We can't take everybody's case, but in my opinion once you're in, you're family.

What's special about us: We're not too good at website design or properly licensed, up-to-date photos. But we do a lot of EB1As and national interest waivers. We do mandamus to speed up all kinds of things, and federal litigation of immigration denials in U.S. District Court. We respond to a lot of RFEs and NOIDs for other people's cases. (And by the way, if you get one of those, just email it straight to me and I'll see if I can help you. Calling me is a crap shoot. sheridan@greenvisalaw.com.)

As I was re-doing the website today, I noticed a Google Review I'd never read. It says, "If I could, I would pay this man his weight in gold because that is what he is in ANY immigration matters." That made me very happy.
